I-40 westbound at NC 42 reopens after obstruction in roadway

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Interstate 40 westbound was briefly closed at N.C. Highway 42 (Exit 312) due to an obstruction in the roadway Wednesday night.

The exit ramp to N.C. 42 was also closed around 9:15 p.m.

There are reports that a cable fell across the roadway.

The road has since reopened to traffic.
