Fedora mum; UNC students get vocal over alleged rape
CHAPEL HILL (WTVD) -- UNC head football coach Larry Fedora stuck to the very limited statement he released Tuesday when he was peppered with questions after Wednesday's practice about a rape allegation involving one of his players.
"I think the university and myself put out a statement yesterday and I can't comment any further," Fedora said.
Fedora went on to say that his team right now is focusing on its next game and said it hasn't even officially discussed its absent linebacker.
UNC junior Allen Artis was suspended from the team on Tuesday after UNC sophomore Delaney Robinson accused him publicly of raping her seven months ago and filed self-sworn warrants of misdemeanor assault and sexual assault.

Fedora would not comment on when he learned about the investigation into his player stemming from the alleged attack on Feb. 14.

While Fedora stayed fairly quiet on the matter, several student groups are looking to speak out.
"Hopefully plan some sort of peaceful and productive action," said UNC senior Justine Orlovsky-Schnitzler.
Orlovsky-Schnitzler is with UNC Siren, a student-produced feminist publication on campus.
She and other members of Siren are behind a post on social media Wednesday that called for students to gather at Carroll Hall at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
"In light of recent events, Siren invites all students and representatives of other like-minded organizations," the group said in a post on Facebook. "We plan to discuss a collaborative response to the UNC administration and its failure to bring justice to the latest survivor to step forward."

The post went on to say that they "will respond loud and clear" and ended with a hashtag that said "Stand with Delaney."
That post attracted about 75 students. Together, they discussed writing a formal letter to UNC Chancellor Carol Folt to demand more support for alleged victims now and in the future.

"I love my school I want to see us support students and survivors of sexual assault. I just want to make sure we get to that place," Orlovsky-Schnitzler said.
There is no word yet on when they will deliver that letter. They hope to gather signatures to attach to that letter, so organizers say they plan to distribute it around campus as well as other campuses.

Typically, ABC11 does not name victims of sexual assault, however, Robinson has come out publicly.
