CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- UNC-Chapel Hill officially unveiled the school's new athletic branding Monday night.
It was a project they dubbed "Our Blue."
Bubba Cunningham, school officials, and student-athlete representatives have been working on the project with Nike.
Famed Carolina designer Alexander Julian was also involved.
The result was a cleaned up interlocking "NC," some slightly new font, and a bunch of argyle accenting on the football uniforms.
"I love them. It kind of brings back the old Carolina and the tradition that they've upheld for so long and then it brings a little bit of the new day and age to it," said UNC wide receiver Ryan Switzer. "It's good. It's good for Carolina. I think it unifies all the athletes knowing that Nike wanted to bring us together."
"How much sense does it make to unify the colors," said Julian. "I mean, it makes all the sense in the world to unify the colors to unify the iconography, unify the efforts because we are... one school."
Nike has been UNC's athletic apparel partner since 1993.
