CHICAGO -- The CHIditarod is Chicago's version of the Alaskan Iditarod.
Instead of dogs and sleds, participants of the CHIditarod use shopping carts and their own legs to race through Chicago's West Side neighborhoods.
Participants can win the race in many ways, with prizes awarded for various categories, such as speed, creativity and design.
Founder Devin Breen says, "If you show up and do the work to be here, you've already won."
He also commented that he was inspired by similar races in New York City, San Francisco and Portland.
Now in its 20th year, the event has raised over $1 million to help fight hunger in Chicago.
