Daughter charged with killing mother in Warren County

WARRENTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Warren County Sheriff's Office has charged a woman with killing her mother.

Nell Pettus, 58, was found dead at a home in the 400 block of Axtell Ridgeway Road last Wednesday. An autopsy showed she died from a gunshot wound.

Tuesday, Pettus' daughter, Rhonda Pettus, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

She is in jail awaiting an Oct. 8 court appearance.
