Wayne County sheriff's deputies investigate death in Pikeville

PIKEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Wayne County sheriff's deputies are conducting a death investigation after a body was found on the side of a road Friday night.

Authorities say 50-year-old Glenn Rowe was found dead around 8:20 p.m. along Rose Road in Pikeville.

Investigators say Rowe was shot by his sister, 49-year-old Jenny Rowe, who was trying to defend their 85-year-old father.

Right now, charges are not being filed.
