SEVEN SPRINGS, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says a vigilant neighbor foiled the kidnapping of a 4-year-old child.

It happened Wednesday on Jimmy's Drive in Seven Springs.

Deputies said when 40-year-old Oscar Juarez-Perez arrived home with the small child, the neighbor got suspicious because the man had never been seen with a child before.

Investigators said they soon learned Juarez-Perez had abducted the child, who was returned to its mother unharmed.

Juarez-Perez was charged with felony child abduction and felony restraint. Bond was set at $500,000.
