Truck driver dies in fiery wreck in Orange County
CEDAR GROVE, N.C. (WTVD) -- NC-86 was completely shut down near Sawmill Road after a crash.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of a truck died in the accident.
A propane truck was completely engulfed in flames after an accident with a car, according to authorities.
State Highway Patrol said a 2007 Chevrolet car traveling west on Sawmill Road didn't stop at a stop sign and crashed into the tractor trailer.
Troopers charged the car driver, Taurus Hairston of Blairs, Va., with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and driving with a revoked license.
The tractor trailer went off the right side of the road, overturned, and caught on fire.
The driver of the car was taken to Duke Hospital with serious injuries, according to authorities.
At around 6:30 Tuesday morning rescue teams were dispatched.
