Officers responded to a robbery call at the Bank of America, 4811 Hope Valley Road, at 11:51 a.m.
Police say two suspects tried to hold up a Dunbar Armored security vehicle while it was parked at the Bank of America.
One employee entered the bank while the second employee remained with the vehicle. As the second employee returned to the vehicle, a male got out of a parked gray Ford Taurus, approached the armored vehicle and fired several shots.
The employee took cover behind the armored car. No one was struck by the gunfire, but some vehicles were damaged.
One employee was treated for a hand injury.
The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, and they fled with an undisclosed about of money.
