The following message from DeanJack Boger was posted on the UNC Law School Web site:

"I'm writing to share the terribly sad news that Lisa Moran, one of our international exchange students from Glasgow University in Scotland, died after being struck by a Chapel Hill Transit bus along Manning Drive in Chapel Hill. The accident occurred shortly before 11am on Thursday morning, May 15th. Lisa arrived at the UNC School of Law in January 2008 through an exchange program we host in partnership with Glasgow University. Lisa was 20 years old and in her third year studying law and economics at Glasgow University. She concluded her semester with us in May 2008 and was planning to return to Scotland next week. We are deeply saddened by this news, and our sincerest condolences go out to all of her friends and family, both here and in her native Scotland."

Moran was transported to UNC Hospitals where she died Thursday.
