The policy now includes seven factors to be considered such as performance ratings, the status of a teacher's license and service in extra duty positions. Also, a recommendation by the superintendent will be considered.
County school superintendent Stephen Page told the board at its Monday meeting that future layoffs are possible.
No jobs have been cut for the current school year.
