Investigators have identified the dead man as 57-year-old Edward Wayne Dudley.
A patrol spokesman says the wreck was one of more than 2,500 accident calls that troopers handled during snowstorm Tuesday.
The National Weather Service says up to 3 inches of snow fell in Granville County.
