Woman hit by car dies

HOLLY SPRINGS The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Oakhall Drive.

It happened as Linda Faye McNeil was crossing Main Street in the direction of the Food Lion store and a car was driving northbound on Main Street.

The 56-year-old died at Wake Med Hospital.

Holly Springs Police say they do not expect to file charges against the driver. The investigation is ongoing.
