Reassignment fans, foes to meet

RALEIGH The Wake Schools Community Alliance - which wants to stop busing students and supports sending students to schools close to their homes - will sit down with The Coalition of Concerned Citizens for African-American Children - which says busing students increases diversity and leads to better student performance across a wider spectrum.

The forum begins at 6:30 p.m. at Martin Street Baptist Church, 1001 E. Martin St. in Raleigh. The title is "Does Diversity Impact Achievement in WCPSS." Speakers include Dr. Dudley Flood, Board of Governors, University of North Carolina and The Honorable Vernon Malone, State Senator of North Carolina.
