Vigil marks six months since Morris disappearance

GRANVILLE COUNTY Family and friends gathered at the flagpole on Central Avenue at 7 p.m. in /*Butner*/ to honor /*Kelly Currin Morris*/ on Saturday.

They say it has been six months since anyone has seen or heard from Morris. The 28-year-old mother of two was reported missing September 3, 2008 --the same day her home was set on fire. Authorities are calling the fire an arson.

Shortly after, her car was found abandoned about a mile away from her home. Morris' cellular phone, keys and purse were also found.

Since then, Morris' family and volunteers have been constantly searching for the missing mother and have held several vigils in her honor.

The last vigil was held on January 4, which would have been Morris' 29th birthday. It also marked four months since she went missing. Her family also held a vigil in October in an effort to get the word out that Morris was still missing.

Authorities have not made any arrests in the case, but they say Morris' husband, Scott, is a person of interest.

If you have information on the whereabouts of Morris or information on the arson, please contact the Granville County Sheriff's Department at 919-693-3213 or Granville County Crime Stoppers at 919-693-3100.
