Police Chief Timothy Stoker told Eyewitness News that the body was discovered by a citizen in a wooded area in the undeveloped Drayton Reserve sub-division, located off of Forestville Road.
He said the man's age, race and identity had yet to be determined, but he did say the man was an apparent victim of a homicide. Wake County detectives are assisting in the case.
The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.
