Perdue reminded residents this is the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Floyd, which killed 52 people in North Carolina and caused more than $6 billion in damage.

RALEIGH Gov. Beverly Perdue has declared this week as Hurricane
Awareness Week and said tropical systems can bring weather-related
problems from the mountains to the coast.
