Investigators say Aman started having a sexual relationship with the girl when she was 13-years-old and continued the relationship up until March, when he forced her to have sex against her will.
Authorities have charged him with eight counts of statutory rape, one count of second degree rape, eight counts of indecent liberties with a minor, two counts of soliciting prostitution of a minor, nine counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and one count of sexual battery.
According to Sheriff Jimmy Thornton, Aman was terminated from the Sheriff's Office in February 2006 for unrelated reasons.
Aman served as the county building security officer for the Sampson County Government until he was transferred to the Sheriff's Office in July of 2005 due to staff realignments. He also worked as a deputy sheriff under two former county sheriffs.
Aman is currently in the Sampson County Detention Center under a $60,000 bond.
