Police were dispatched to the home around 2:30 p.m. after Lingenfelter called 911 and said she was going to hurt herself.
When officers arrived at the home, they were unable to make contact with her after repeated attempts so they dispatched SWAT.
About eight hours passed before the team entered the home and found Lingenfelter's body.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. Lingenfelter was four months pregnant and the wife of a Fort Bragg soldier.
