Teacher gets probation for sex with teen

ROCK HILL, S.C. Richard Priode, 45, pleaded guilty Wednesday to taking indecent liberties with a student. The charge does not require him to register as a sex offender.

Authorities say Priode was working at South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, N.C., when he had sexual contact with a student.

Priode left the school in June 2008, and then taught at Sullivan Middle School in Rock Hill. Priode's current employment status is not known.

Priode had faced a maximum of 15 months in prison. Prosecutors said Priode had no prior criminal record.
