Detectives trying to convict Jason Young for the 2006 murder of his wife Michelle said in search warrants filed this week that a security camera where he stayed was unplugged.

Young was arrested in Brevard last month - just over three years after Michelle Young was found beaten to death in her Wake County home. He faces a first-degree murder charge.

Michelle was pregnant with the couple's second child at the time of her death. Daughter Cassidy, who was 2 years old at the time of the murder, was found unharmed inside the house near her mother's body

Jason Young - who worked as a pharmaceutical salesman - told investigators he was on a sales trip in Virginia the night his wife died. But in search warrants filed in the case, investigators said a side door at the Hampton Hotel where Young stayed in Hillsville, VA was left propped open. A security camera in a stairwell was also unplugged.

Young is seen in video from another camera walking through the hotel lobby. Detectives said the clothes he was seen wearing have never been recovered.

Prosecutors have alleged the Young's were having serious financial and marital problems and that Jason was cheating on Michelle. The search warrants filed this week seek access to text messages from Jason Young's phone.
