N.C. State student cited in bizarre incident

RALEIGH N.C. State University police say James C. Jackson, who is a student, and an unidentified roommate were wrestling in a parking deck on Dan Allen Drive Saturday morning around 2:30 a.m.

At that point, a car droved up and its occupants asked if they could offer any help.

That's when investigators say an intoxicated Jackson punched out the passenger window of the car, dragged out the passenger, and began repeatedly hitting him in the head, and slamming him to the ground.

The victim is identified as Wayne Lamar Louis, a student at Saint Augustine's College, and his injuries are not considered serious.

Jackson is charged with damage to property and assault inflicting serious injury.

He was also taken to WakeMed for treatment of minor injuries.

His roommate fled the scene, but police are said to be talking with him about the incident.
