Man arrested in grandmother, mother's deaths

FAYETTEVILLE Tarae Lamont Mosby, 29, returned to Fayetteville Friday and was formally charged with the murder of his mother, 47-year-old Karen Mosby and his grandmother, 69-year-old Betty Pettigrew.

The victims were found around 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 14 in the 6000 block of Brookshire Street in Fayetteville.

Neighbors tell ABC11 the women were not military and moved in only a few months earlier.

Mosby is charged with 1st degree murder and with larceny of a motor vehicle. He is currently being held in the Cumberland County Jail with no bond.
