UNC football player arrested for DWI

CHAPEL HILL Burlington Police confirm Blue was arrested Sunday at 2:31a.m. on Maple Avenue.

According to police, Blue was pulled over after he was seen weaving in traffic.

Blue had a blood alcohol level of .12, according to police. He is charged with DWI, failing to maintain lane control, following too closely and having an open container.

Blue attended North Gaston High School and Hargrave Military Academy before joining the UNC football team in 2009.

According to TarHeelBlue.com, Blue played in six games in 2009 before suffering a season-ending knee injury which he is still recovering from.

Officials at UNC tell ABC11, "We are aware of it." Blue notified the coaching staff earlier this week. UNC says, "Discipline has been and will be handled internally."
