Chrishawn Tyrone Johnson, 16, is charged with attempted 1st degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury (2 counts), robbery with a dangerous weapon (2 counts), felony conspiracy, conspiracy of robbery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
The robbery and attack happened just after 6:30 p.m. December 23 at the Gold Factory at 5075 Morganton Road.
According to detectives, a suspect wearing what appeared to be a clown mask entered the store through the front door and confronted the owner as he was taking out the trash.
The suspect immediately shot the owner and then hit him with his handgun. The owner survived.
A second teen allegedly involved in the case - 18-year-old Charles Marl Boone III - is already in custody.
Police said Johnson was found with a small arsenal of weapons - including nine semi-automatic and revolver type handguns.
Two other men found with Johnson also face weapons charges.
