DURHAM

No. 5 Duke took first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference after beating No. 21 North Carolina.

Duke has been in the top five all season, and holds a half-game lead over Carolina in the ACC. UNC just made it back into the top 25 after winning nine of its last 10 games.

The ACC powers met for the 230th time.

UNC holds a 130-99 lead in the all-time series. This is the 66th meeting in which both teams are ranked in the Associated Press poll.

Carolina has not won a game at Cameron Indoor Stadium while ranked below 20th since March 4, 1990. Duke won both games last season after Carolina won six of the seven previous games.
