Estranged wife drives through husband's house

RALEIGH Briana King, 51, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon and first-degree burglary.

The charges stem from an altercation with her estranged husband, Joseph King, that happened just after midnight Sunday.

According to search warrants, the incident started at a home on 6400 Castlebrook Drive in Raleigh, when the couple got into an argument over Joseph King refusing to read a letter from his wife.

The documents state that Briana King pulled a butcher knife out of her car and tried to stab her husband. Joseph King was able to get the knife away from her, but Briana King managed to hit him in the back of the head with a wine bottle as he tried to walk away.

The warrants go on to state that Joseph King restrained his wife and then poured the wine from the bottle, on her face.

Joseph King left the home and went to another home on Castlebrook Drive where he was staying. He told authorities that he heard the doorbell ring five minutes later, but did not answer and saw his wife leave the driveway in their 2007 Mercedez Benz.

Moments later, he heard a loud crash in the bedroom and saw that she had driven the Mercedez through the wall.

Warrants state Briana King climbed through a window and began chasing her husband with a butcher knife.

Joseph King says he ran out the front door and called 911.

Briana King is expected to appear in court this week.
