Officials had to close nearby Garner Road as crews battled the blaze and worked to clear the scene. The road was reopened around 6 a.m.
Crews say the blaze started in a bedroom, but the homeowner wasn't home. Officials say the fire did not appear to be suspicious.
The house was destroyed in the blaze and has been declared uninhabitable.
