Woman calls 911 over alleged abuse

RALEIGH

She's accused of intentionally breaking her 1-year-old son's legs. Police say an investigation into the alleged child abuse began when apparently Zamot's mother Jacqueline Williams - who lives in the same north Raleigh apartment - called 911 on April 28.

"I have a 17-year-old that has a 1-year-old baby and she is failing to take care of the baby. The baby has been on the floor here soaking wet, and she's sleeping and won't take care of the baby," said the caller.

Police say the boy was taken to the hospital, where doctors determined his tibia and fibula in both legs were fractured.

Earlier charges are also pending against Zamot including misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats.

She's being held on $210,000 secured bond.
