Officers responded to the intersection of Hope Mills and Wingate roads in response to an overturned vehicle. Police say the car appears to have been traveling south on Hope Mills Road toward Cumberland Road when it ran off the left side of the road, hit a guy-wire and overturned.
The driver died at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim's name pending notification of family.
