Man sought in convenience store robbery

Authorities in Fayetteville are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in surveillance video.

The suspect is wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Sunoco convenience store in the 6000 block of Raeford Road.

It happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 9.

Police said the suspect walked into the store with a gun, went behind the counter, and demanded money.

They said after he received the money, the suspect fled on foot headed west on Raeford Road.

The suspect is described as an African American man with a thin build standing about 5' 7" tall. He was last seen wearing a white hoodie with skulls printed on it, a black shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a dark colored baseball hat.

Anyone with information about the crime or recognizes the suspect is asked to call Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
