The accident happened at the 1200 hundred block of Glen Lauren Road.
Officials said the vehicle rolled over during the wreck, ejecting the driver from the car.
The man's identity has not been released, and he was transported to WakeMed with life threatening injuries.
Johnston County police spent Saturday morning investigating the crash.
