Just before 11:30 p.m., officers were called to the 5400 of Wichita Drive after residents reported hearing several gunshots being fired.

When officers arrived, they found evidence of a possible crime scene, but no victim.
A short time later, a 23-year-old man was driven to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center by a friend. He was allegedly shot three times and listed in critical, but stable condition.
Detectives are currently investigating. No suspects have been located at this time. Further details have not been released.
