A man wanted in a Durham double murder Monday has been shot by officers who went to arrest him in South Carolina.

Michael Teon Brown, 28, of Hartsville, S.C. is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of 34-year-old Jerron McGirt and 33-year-old Jessica Liriano at a home in the 2200 block of Cheek Road.

Police said Brown was Liriano's ex-boyfriend.

South Carolina authorities say Darlington County deputies and State Law Enforcement Division agents were trying to arrest Brown when he ran away shooting. The officers fired back, hitting Brown. None of the officers were injured.

Brown is expected to survive.
