Temperatures rise above freezing, ending threat of winter storm in North Carolina
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Winter Weather Advisory has expired for all ABC11 counties except Person County.
The advisory remains in effect for that county until 4 p.m., because temperatures there are right around 32 degrees. All other areas in central North Carolina are now above 32 degrees.

Freezing rain and a wintry mix was a possibility Wednesday, but for the most part that did not happen--at least not in the Triangle. The Triad and piedmont areas did see some freezing rain and ice accumulation.
But back home, clouds and rain will continue throughout Wednesday.
NC Emergency Management Director Mike Sprayberry spoke about the possible winter storm Tuesday afternoon.
"Everyone should follow their local forecasts closely and stay alert to changing weather conditions over the next 48 hours. While this is currently forecast to be a minor winter weather event for our state, winter weather in North Carolina is notoriously difficult to forecast. And just a small change in the forecast can mean big changes in storm impacts," Sprayberry said.
