Mother faces charges after accident on Highway 147 in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A mother faces charges after an accident Saturday in Durham left her two children seriously hurt.

It happened in the northbound lanes of N.C. Highway 147 near T.W. Alexander Drive.

Nikki Bazemore faces charges of reckless driving, driving without a license, and failure to properly restrain children.

The Highway Patrol says she fell asleep at the wheel.

The two children were taken to Duke Hospital with serious injuries.
