In Cary, crews were forced to shut off the water to one unit at the Camden Westwood Apartments on Summit Ridge Loop, just off Weston Parkway.
Crews had to hut water off to building #21 because of a water line break. Officials are trying to figure out of the freezing temperatures are to blame for the break.
In Durham, another water line breaking at Main Street and Alston Avenue is expected to cause problems for commuters.
Officials say water from the break is making some roads in the area icey.
Police closed the through lake of North Alston Avenue while crews worked to repair the water main.
