New indictments focus in Carson murder

CHAPEL HILL

"We will consider sending more indictments to the grand jury on May 5," Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall said.

/*Laurence Lovette, Jr.*/ and /*Demario Atwater*/ will return to court May 5. D.A. Woodall says in the interim, he will be meeting with investigators.

According to /*Chapel Hill Police*/ Chief Brian Curran, the investigation in still active.

Curran says the investigation may lead to others being charged.

Meanwhile, warrants remain sealed and investigators remain tight-lipped. A local paper is reporting that time stamped surveillance photos of the suspects using /*Carson*/'s ATM card may have been taken more than an hour before she was murdered.

Which raises the question, was she in the back seat of the vehicle in that photo? It's a question Woodall says may be answered soon enough.

"I think people are just spinning their wheels," Woodall said. "I'd say just wait. All this speculation will soon be put to rest."
