Johnston County school officials have identified the teacher as Marilyn Bulifant.
The alleged incident happened Tuesday at West Johnston High School.
Bulifant was hired at the beginning of this school year.
The school system says it's taking the allegations seriously.
So far, Bulifant has been suspended with pay until an internal investigation is finished.
