Largest military parade comes to Raleigh

RALEIGH

North Carolina's military installations will participate in the largest military /*parade*/ of its kind in the state's history.

The /*Salute to Our Troops*/ event will begin on Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.

The parade will kick off with a flyover by a F-15E Strike Eagle jet aircraft from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Following will be personnel and equipment from the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and North Carolina National Guard.

Families of those currently serving in the military will be on floats as will two Medal of Honor recipients.

Area high school bands will also show off their talent in the parade.

The parade will be just one of the attractions for the public. Also on display will be modern military equipment, five NASCAR show cars, and samples of fresh cooked pork tenderloins supplied by the North Carolina Pork Council.

The initiative is supported by a growing number of local, state, and national industries and companies. To learn more about this event, please go to www.SaluteOurNCTroops.org.
