The accident occurred on Manning Drive near South Columbia Street.
The UNC Police Department has legal jurisdiction on Manning Drive. The UNC-PD requested mutual aid and the Chapel Hill Police Department officers are conducting the investigation.
The pedestrian, a white female age 20, was jogging on Manning Drive and attempted to cross the road.
She and the bus collided southeast of the intersection of South Columbia Street. There was no designated crosswalk at the point of impact.
She was transported to UNC Hospitals where she later died. He name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
The investigation is continuing.
