Trailer stolen in Clayton recovered in Florida

MIAMI, Fla.

The Miami-Dade Police Department found the abandoned trailer with no cab attached in an area near the Everglades. Although the trailer was not damaged, it's cargo was missing.

The truck was originally reported stolen from a lot near U.S. Highway 70 Business and Shotwell Road in Clayton. The truck's trailer contained $150,000 worth of liquors that were to be delivered to /*Raleigh*/.

The truck's driver said he parked the rig in the lot behind a Bojangle's restaurant and returned the next day to find it missing. The truck's cab was found abandoned several days later in /*Johnston County*/.

Clayton investigators are working with various law enforcement agencies. Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen cargo, should call the Clayton Police Department.
