Durham police investigate bank robbery

DURHAM

Two masked men armed with guns entered the bank around 10:45 a.m. and ordered everyone to get on the floor. One male jumped over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects ran out of the bank and fled in a green Nissan Sentra, which was found abandoned and still running several hundred yards away in a strip mall parking lot on N.C. 54.

The suspects were described as two black males dressed in black clothing and wearing stocking masks. They were described as being medium height and weight.

There were customers in the bank, but no one was injured.

The Sentra had been reported stolen at 12:21 a.m. Wednesday on Woodway Club Drive. A male told officers he parked the car shortly after midnight and noticed a man standing near him. The man approached the car, pointed a gun at the victim and demanded the keys.
