New developments in Peterson case

The defense team representing Michael Peterson says it will present new evidence to support the so-called "owl theory".

In October of 2003, Peterson was convicted of killing his wife, Kathleen. He's serving a life sentence.

Larry Pollard, a member of Peterson's original defense team, was the first to suggest that Kathleen Peterson was attacked and killed by an owl. It was never brought up in trial.

Instead, the defense argued that she died after falling down the stairs.

On Thursday, Pollard and other members of Michael Peterson's defense team will hold a press conference in Durham.

They say their new evidence that supports the "owl theory" includes a feather pulled out of Kathleen's hair.

They are hoping it will force the DA's office to re-open the investigation.
