Officers responded to a gunshot call at 605 West Chapel Hill Street at 4:28 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2008.
When they arrived, the officers found a man lying on the basement floor of the building. It appeared that the male victim had been shot several times.
Police arrested 59-year-old Barry Wayne Kaalund and charged him with Sturdivant's murder.
