One more chance to get booster shots

RALEIGH

"[It's]required by law to make sure that our sixth grade students had their booster shot in order to stay in school," Daniels Middle School Principal Stephen Mares explained.

Two-hundred /*Wake County*/ sixth graders, who still do not have their shots, are effected by the law.

Without the shot, students are not permitted in school Wednesday.

Seventeen Wake County schools offered free clinics, 500 received free shots and 800 students proved they already had the shot.

The shot protects students against whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria.
