Cumberland County Sheriff's deputies have cited one person and are investigating another in connection with recent tire slashings at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville.

Timothy Michael Strickland, 18, of Dunn faces 11 citations for his role in vandalizing vehicles during an Obama political rally.

Investigators say Strickland and a 15-year-old suspect, whose name will not be released because he is a minor, randomly targeted the vehicles as a prank and the incident was in no way politically motivated.

Strickland will make a first court appearance on October 30 on citations for willful injury to personal property.

Meanwhile, detectives are continuing to investigate the 15-year-old suspect who allegedly conspired with Strickland to damage the vehicles.
