Rocky Mount Police say Officer Jill Tyson-Johnson, 33, was serving a warrant on the side of Woodruff Road around 9:30 p.m. when a suspected drunk driver hit her and her patrol car with another officer inside.
They say that driver left the scene, then caused another wreck on Benvenue Road. No one was hurt.
Tyson-Johnson and her partner later arrested the driver and charges are pending.
Tyson-Johnson was taken to Nash General Hospital with non-life treating injuries.
Highway patrol and Rocky Mount Police are investigating.
