Investigators say officials at the church uncovered irregularities in their bookkeeping and found discrepancies between 2006 and October, 2008. They reported their concerns to the District Attorney’s Office earlier this month and asked for an investigation.
Ringled faces 19 counts of embezzlement and was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $3,800 unsecured bond.
A court date has yet to be set.
Investigators say additional charges are pending against Ringled including: forging deeds of trust and obtaining property by false pretense.
