Computers knocked out in courthouses

Phones and computer systems were down in courthouses and county offices across the Triangle Tuesday.Officials blamed the problem on a severed fiber optic cable in Chapel Hill.

Workers at the Wake County courthouse in Raleigh were unable to do much of anything because their computer system was completely down.

The problem began at 8:30 a.m. and was repaired by 1:45 p.m.
